Carole Spackman Ceramics  Inspiration

Carole Spackman

A South Londoner by birth, in 1982 I moved to my present home & workshop in Llanddeusant, a remote mountain hamlet in Carmarthenshire.

I make pots to use, look at & enjoy - tableware, bird & animal sculptures.  I also lead Pottery Workshops.

Inspiration for my work is drawn from surrounding wildlife & landscape of this unspoiled part of the western end of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

A nearby field that hosts an ever changing panorama of wild flowers provides colour for my tableware.  Local bird life inspires my figurative work, while the textures in the surrounding mountain escarpment are reflected in my raku & fumed work.

I have exhibited in galleries such as the Glynn Vivian, Newport, Monmouth & Brecon museums.  An earlier tableware design has been sold in Selfridges & Fortnum & Mason.
